Message Wall

This banner to be replaced with a dedicated image.

That blog revamp took a lot out of me, if I'm being honest. Even if it was just copying and pasting code onto a template, it took some man hours to transfer over and revamp, until it was almost 2 in the morning. As I type this, there is fear of having to update this website subsection if I change something, like organizing the NavBar files or adjusting the website design. As of this date, there still isn't a banner image for the Message Wall, so I forsee a lot of pain in my future. Idea one is to use the find and replace command to do that in every HTML file, or Idea two is to find a solution to mass edit HTML files to bind to one template. That may require external programs or further knowledge. The things I do as a hobby, at least it's time I enjoyed wasting.

Even then, I felt satisfied at making the blog more comprehensive and less, uh, babby's first website. That background image would've been zoomed in enough for matrix lines to be visible to the naked eye. I actually saw Bakartridges's website have two nested subpages, which got my gears turning on wishing to have that on my site. Minor sidetrack, I found them because they made an The Octopus Project fanart in the smaller 24 on Deev, and instantly watched from Tony Hawk's Proving Ground being their fav. They totally deserve a wicked awesome high five, and that's not the nostalgia bias speaking.

I thought it would be needlessly complicated, until I remembered that even doing it in a 'dumb' way still works. It's also dumb simple, it's just making a folder in your dashboard and needing to specify that in code refs. The tradeoff in exchange for having a better looking site is worth it to me. Now I can't wait to get to the point where I have to rehaul EVERY BOX so that it can scale properly to different screens, not even mentioning the different medias like the smartphone environments. It will disintegrate me if I dared try to multiply my workload by about 3 times.

I also went skateboarding today, but with the most whack setup possible, and I don't mean my board or my clothing. I hooked up my Flip camera onto one of those extendable (and real durable) selfie sticks and posed it to be low to the ground. It may have been upside down, but nothing like some post editing can't fix, and the sound on there is mainly my bearings spinning and my incredibly loud bushings squeaking. If someone were to take a picture of me when I had that up, I would've died. I felt like a skate poser holding the damn selfie stick, a photo would've been prime heckle material in a local skate zine. No, I didn't try to vlog myself on a skateboard, I hate having my face be all pronounced, I want the action to speak for itself. I used the Flip camcorder as more of a primative gopro, or a diet/poverty one since there isn't removable storage. Most of the footage was some scenery shots anyways, with the first one having a goat lawnmowing area. Might need more footage to edit and compile onto the YT channel just so I can do something and maybe bank on some nostalgia views too.

So, new site area, new project idea, and overall feeling great. Perhaps next time I can talk about my console shooter phase, or talk about my small collection of old GameInformer magazines. I actually snagged The Club from that, but the years of PC gaming have not been kind with my controller stick aiming. Or I scrap those previous two ideas and instead blab about the rollerblading game Rolling for the PS2, we shall see.
